Resetting Your Password

If you have forgotten your password or want to change it for security reasons, follow these steps to reset it.

If You Forgot Your Password

  1. Go to the Sign In page on LocalVet.
  2. Click the "Forgot Password?" link below the password field.
  3. Enter the email address associated with your LocalVet account.
  4. Click Send Reset Link.
  5. Check your inbox for an email from LocalVet with the subject "Reset Your Password".
  6. Click the reset link in the email. This link is valid for 24 hours.
  7. Enter your new password and confirm it.
  8. Click Save and you will be signed in automatically.

If You Want to Change Your Current Password

If you are already signed in and want to change your password:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner and select Account Settings.
  2. Go to the Security tab.
  3. Enter your current password, then type your new password twice to confirm.
  4. Click Update Password.

Password Requirements

Your new password must meet these requirements:

  • At least 8 characters long.
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter.
  • Contains at least one number.
  • Contains at least one special character (e.g. !, @, #, $).

Did Not Receive the Reset Email?

If the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes:

  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address — the same one you used when you created your account.
  • Try requesting the reset link again.
  • If you signed up using Google Sign-In, you do not have a LocalVet password. Sign in using the Google button instead.

Account Security Tips

  • Do not reuse passwords across multiple websites.
  • Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong passwords.
  • If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, reset your password immediately and contact our support team.
