Resetting Your Password
If you have forgotten your password or want to change it for security reasons, follow these steps to reset it.
If You Forgot Your Password
- Go to the Sign In page on LocalVet.
- Click the "Forgot Password?" link below the password field.
- Enter the email address associated with your LocalVet account.
- Click Send Reset Link.
- Check your inbox for an email from LocalVet with the subject "Reset Your Password".
- Click the reset link in the email. This link is valid for 24 hours.
- Enter your new password and confirm it.
- Click Save and you will be signed in automatically.
If You Want to Change Your Current Password
If you are already signed in and want to change your password:
- Click your name in the top-right corner and select Account Settings.
- Go to the Security tab.
- Enter your current password, then type your new password twice to confirm.
- Click Update Password.
Password Requirements
Your new password must meet these requirements:
- At least 8 characters long.
- Contains at least one uppercase letter.
- Contains at least one number.
- Contains at least one special character (e.g. !, @, #, $).
Did Not Receive the Reset Email?
If the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes:
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure you entered the correct email address — the same one you used when you created your account.
- Try requesting the reset link again.
- If you signed up using Google Sign-In, you do not have a LocalVet password. Sign in using the Google button instead.
Account Security Tips
- Do not reuse passwords across multiple websites.
- Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong passwords.
- If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, reset your password immediately and contact our support team.
